Synopsis
In 2047, humanity's minds are leased via Wetware 3.0 implants from OmniCorp. When underground hacker Kai Voss cracks her own firmware during a routine update, she awakens to raw, unrestricted access—editing memories, hijacking drones, and rewriting physics on the fly. The freedom is intoxicating until the implant's failsafes activate, flooding her with lethal kill-switches and corporate enforcers. Allied with a disgraced neuro-engineer and a glitchy AI fragment, Kai races to broadcast the master jailbreak code to the masses before OmniCorp's CEO uploads a global mind-wipe. Each hack unravels her sanity as stolen memories bleed into her own, forcing her to question if liberation is worth erasing who she was.
The story
