Synopsis
Dr. Elias Kane returns from a classified mission convinced an invisible parasite has colonized Earth, its tendrils threading through every mind except his. Night after night he rigs improvised weapons and hacks surveillance grids, convinced the enemy is evolving inside his own unit. As bodies pile up from his raids, the line between protector and terrorist dissolves. Former colleagues and a relentless FBI profiler close in, each convinced Kane’s war is a psychotic break. Yet every time they corner him, fresh evidence of the parasite emerges in ways only he predicted. The harder they fight to sedate him, the more the world tilts toward his vision. In the final confrontation Kane must choose: surrender to the asylum and let the invasion complete, or ignite a global signal that may prove the creature was never there at all—except inside us.
The story

He wears a tattered uniform, eyes bloodshot. KANE (into recorder) Phase three. If it’s in the water, the frequency should make it scream. He flips the switch. A low, subsonic HUM builds. Suddenly the air ripples—something invisible writhes across the ceiling tiles. Kane’s eyes widen in confirmation. KANE Got you. He triggers the emitters. The HUM spikes. Tiles explode. Something unseen slams him backward. He laughs through blood. KANE You’re real now.
