Synopsis
In the choking haze of Zor'Kesh, where ancient trees have fused with rusted pipelines and rivers run with glowing slag, scavenger Elara Voss discovers a dying symbiote core that whispers the planet's final cry. Hunted by corporate enforcers who profit from the corruption, she allies with a half-mutated guide and races through biomechanical groves to reach the heart-forge that powers the endless industry. As the flora fights back with razor roots and toxic blooms, Elara must decide whether to destroy the symbiosis and doom the world or embrace it and become its new god.
The story
Elara scavenges the slag-forest fringes when a pipe-root ambush reveals the symbiote's hunger and corporate drones descend. She barely escapes with a fragment that begins mutating her arm.
Teaming with a rogue biomechanic and evading enforcers, Elara ventures deeper into the living refinery where trees pump molten ore and the planet itself tries to assimilate her. Betrayals and grotesque transformations mount as she locates the heart-forge.
At the core, Elara confronts the industrial overlord fused to the planet's will, severs the symbiosis in a cataclysmic rupture, and walks away as the forests begin to heal while her own mutations recede into new purpose.

She slices it with a plasma cutter; black ichor sprays. The forest groans like machinery. Distant drone lights sweep the canopy. ELARA Not today, you bastards. She yanks a pulsing nodule free. It beats in her palm like a second heart. The trees lean closer.
