Synopsis
In the underbelly of Neo-Tokyo 2147, shadows aren't empty voids but living predators—clawed, eyed felines born from corrupted code and forgotten myths. When hacker Kai Reyes downloads a forbidden archive, he awakens the Shadow Claws, ancient guardians that prowl both the net and rain-slick streets, slashing through augmented gangs and corporate enforcers alike. Kai teams with a disgraced net-diver and a streetwise stray-cat whisperer to decode the cats' origin before they consume the city's power grid. As glowing eyes multiply in every alley and hack, the line between digital ghost and physical killer blurs, forcing Kai to confront his own buried sins. The final hunt erupts in a vertical sprawl of rooftops and server farms where claws meet chrome, deciding whether the underworld stays caged or floods the surface world with unstoppable shadow.
The story
Kai, a cocky data thief, breaches the forbidden Spire archive and triggers the first glowing-eyed shadow cat attack that kills his crew. He flees into the flooded lower levels where urban legends of clawed guardians prove real. A mysterious feline avatar warns him the cats now hunt his neural signature.
Allied with burned spy Lena and feral empath Jax, Kai races through neon bazaars and collapsing data cores while the Shadow Claws multiply and adapt, turning the city against him. Corporate death squads and rogue net-gods close in as the cats reveal they were created to punish humanity's hubris. Betrayals and claw ambushes escalate until Kai's past crime is exposed as the original trespass that birthed them.
In a rain-lashed megastructure climax, Kai uploads himself into the shadow realm to bargain with the alpha cat entity. He sacrifices his augmented body to seal the rift, freeing the city but becoming a new glowing-eyed guardian. The final frame shows a single claw scratching a new neon sign: trespassers beware.
