A reclusive painter's final masterpiece comes alive, trapping him in a deadly loop where every brushstroke rewrites his past crimes and future murder.
Synopsis
Elias Voss, once the art world's enfant terrible, locks himself in his decaying studio after a mysterious blackout. His latest canvas begins to shift at night—figures move, blood drips, and scenes mirror real deaths across the city. As critics and collectors descend, Elias realizes the painting is forcing him to relive and atone for the muse he murdered years earlier. His estranged dealer and a hungry young art journalist push him toward a public unveiling, unaware the work hungers for more victims. Reality fractures as Elias paints over his own life, each layer exposing darker secrets. The canvas demands completion, and the only way out is to sacrifice the final subject: himself. In a climax of dripping oils and shattering frames, Elias must choose between eternal masterpiece status and destroying the only thing that ever truly saw him.
The story
Elias, a washed-up painter, barricades himself after his lover's suspicious death. A blank canvas arrives unbidden and begins painting itself overnight, depicting his hidden guilt.
As the living artwork leaks into reality, murders occur exactly as rendered. Allies turn predatory; Elias battles his own creations while the art world circles for profit.
Elias merges with the final canvas in a hallucinatory confrontation, destroying the piece and himself to break the cycle, leaving only one perfect, empty frame behind.

Cold open
INT. ELIAS'S STUDIO - NIGHT Moonlight slices through cracked skylights onto a vast blank canvas. ELIAS VOSS (40s, gaunt, paint-stained hands) stands motionless before it, breathing ragged. ELIAS You were supposed to stay gone. He dips a brush. The first stroke is violent crimson. As he paints, the canvas ripples—subtle, alive. A woman's face emerges in agony. Elias freezes. The eyes open. Real blood beads and drips onto the floor. He staggers back. The studio lights flicker. Distant sirens wail in sync with the dripping. ELIAS (CONT'D) What did I do to you?
Why now
In a culture obsessed with authenticity versus performance, where every life is curated like a gallery wall, this visceral nightmare about art consuming its creator speaks directly to our fractured sense of self and the lethal cost of being seen.
