Synopsis
In a hidden academy floating between waking hours, 17-year-old wizard-in-training Kai Voss learns his nightly visions can reshape the physical world. When a shadowy dream-entity begins devouring students' minds, Kai must master his gift before his own nightmares consume everything. Allied with a rogue dream-architect and a skeptical classmate who anchors him to reality, Kai dives deeper into ever-shifting dreamscapes. Each victory costs him memories and inches him closer to becoming the very monster he fights. As the boundary between worlds collapses, Kai faces an impossible choice: seal the dream realm forever and lose his magic, or risk total oblivion to save both planes.
The story
Kai, an orphaned teen plagued by vivid dreams, is recruited to the floating Academy of Oneiric Arts after accidentally rewriting his school's layout in his sleep. Mentored by the enigmatic Head Dreamer, he learns control while hiding his growing power from rivals.
A nightmare lord begins harvesting students' lucidity to breach the waking world. Kai's allies fracture as his dreams turn lethal, forcing him to confront buried traumas and a traitor within the academy.
In a final shared dream, Kai merges dream and reality to trap the lord, sacrificing his own magic to restore balance and awakening as an ordinary teen who still carries one glowing ember of possibility.
