BABEL: THE EMPTY SUMMIT

In a near-future where ancient towers pierce the stratosphere, Rina, a brilliant but obsessive linguist, joins a final expedition up the colossal Tower of Babel after her mentor's final transmission claims contact with higher beings. The climb fractures her team as languages fracture, memories blur, and the structure itself seems to rewrite reality. At the summit she finds only wind, abandoned relics, and the devastating truth that whatever waited above has already left humanity behind. Flashbacks reveal Rina's lifelong quest stems from losing her voice as a child, driving her to believe the tower holds the original language that could restore connection. Betrayed by a rival climber who arrived first and erased all evidence, Rina must decide whether to descend with the lie that something divine still exists or broadcast the silence that dooms global faith. The film ends on the tower's peak as Rina speaks the first new word into the void, unsure if anyone or anything will answer.

INT. BABEL BASE CAMP - NIGHT

Wind howls through titanium struts. Rina Voss, 32, stands before the colossal black tower that vanishes into storm clouds. Her breath fogs as she checks the final harness.

RINA

If you're still up there... I'm coming.

She steps onto the first rung. The metal groans like language itself. Behind her, the camp lights flicker and die one by one.

EXT. TOWER - ASCENT - DAWN

Rina climbs alone. The world drops away. At 2,000 meters she pauses, opens her palm, and releases a tiny recorder. It falls, broadcasting her voice in every language at once.

The recorder vanishes into cloud. No answer. Only the tower breathing.
