Synopsis
In the dead of winter, electronic musician Kai Voss isolates himself in his late mentor’s alpine studio, determined to capture the perfect mountain synth recording. As blizzards rage outside, his modular rig begins picking up ghostly transmissions that bleed into his tracks, turning serene landscapes into pulsing nightmare soundscapes. The music starts controlling the weather, the wildlife, and ultimately Kai himself. When a snowed-in documentarian arrives seeking an interview, she witnesses Kai’s descent as the frequencies summon something ancient and electric from the rock. Their fragile alliance fractures as the studio becomes a living instrument of dread. Only by mastering the mountain’s deadly melody can either escape its hypnotic grip.
The story
Kai arrives at the remote cabin, sets up his synth arsenal, and begins composing under the aurora; strange static interrupts his sessions and the snow starts behaving like a visualizer.
The frequencies intensify, warping time and memory; the documentarian arrives, they clash over whether to destroy the rig or record the phenomenon, leading to hallucinations and a deadly avalanche triggered by bass drops.
Kai confronts the mountain’s source in a final live performance that resolves the signal, sacrificing himself to seal the frequency while the documentarian escapes with the master tapes that could change music forever.
