When a delusional summer camp director claims the sun obeys only him, his fed-up staff must seize control to rescue the season from his solar dictatorship.
Synopsis
At Camp Solara, the arrival of an epic heatwave turns routine into rebellion when Director Vance insists the sun reports directly to him and mandates mandatory "solar salutes" instead of swimming. The exhausted counselors, already stretched thin by rowdy kids and melting infrastructure, realize Vance's ego threatens everyone's survival. As temperatures soar, they orchestrate a quiet coup that reclaims joy, autonomy, and the simple pleasure of soaking up rays without permission. Their uprising sparks hilarious confrontations, unexpected alliances, and a final showdown at the lake where the staff must prove that no single voice owns the sky. In the end, the campers and crew discover that true leadership means stepping aside so everyone can bask together.
The story
Camp opens under a blazing sun; Vance declares himself solar overlord and enforces absurd rituals while the staff groans.
Staff attempts fail, kids revolt, and Vance doubles down as the heatwave peaks, forcing a risky midnight takeover plan.
Coup succeeds, Vance is humbled, and the entire camp celebrates an unscripted day of pure summer freedom under a shared sky.

EXT. CAMP SOLARA LAKE - DAWN Golden light floods the dock. Vance, in mirrored sunglasses and a cape made of old beach towels, stands on a picnic table addressing bleary counselors. VANCE Listen up! The sun just texted me — we're doing mandatory sun salutes at 6 a.m. every day. It likes discipline. Maya rubs her eyes. MAYA Vance, the sun doesn't have a phone. Vance points dramatically at the rising orb. VANCE It does now. And I'm in charge.
