Synopsis

Elena Thorne arrives at Blackthorn Hall expecting a quiet inheritance but discovers the mansion breathes with the memories of its last mistress, Lady Seraphina. Each night the house rearranges itself, replaying the 1892 murder through Seraphina’s eyes while Elena’s own reflection begins to change. As the locket tightens around her throat, Elena must decide whether to solve the century-old crime or become its final victim. The estate’s staff are either ghosts or accomplices; the solicitor who summoned her may have orchestrated the entire inheritance. Elena’s modern skepticism crumbles as the walls bleed letters and the mirror shows futures she refuses to accept. Love and terror intertwine when she falls for the groundskeeper who is revealed to be the reincarnation of Seraphina’s forbidden lover. In a final act of defiance, Elena rewrites the ending by burning the locket and the house with it, freeing both women across time.

INT. BLACKTHORN HALL - BEDROOM - NIGHT

Rain hammers leaded glass. ELENA THORNE (30s), damp coat still on, stands before an enormous four-poster. A single ORNATE LOCKET rests on the pillow, catching moonlight.

ELENA
Nobody mentioned jewelry.

She lifts it. The metal is warm. In the mirror behind her, a Victorian WOMAN in bloodied silk stands reflected—yet when Elena turns, the room is empty. The locket clicks open. Inside, an inscription: "Forgive me or join me."

Elena’s breath fogs the glass. Her reflection smiles first.

Why now

Audiences are starving for lush, female-driven gothic that weaponizes inheritance and memory against patriarchal violence; after years of grimdark horror, they crave velvet terror that feels both timeless and urgently contemporary.
