Synopsis
In the storm-lashed North Atlantic, veteran captain Harlan Voss leads a five-man crew on a desperate last trip before quotas crush them. Their nets snag something massive and alive that drags the boat into uncharted depths, where bioluminescent tentacles and impossible anatomy reveal a creature mutated by decades of toxic runoff. As systems fail and men vanish one by one, paranoia festers: is the monster intelligent, or is the sea itself sentient and vengeful? The survivors must decide whether to cut the lines and run or harvest the impossible prize that could save or doom their families onshore.
The story
Harlan’s aging trawler sets out under financial duress; nets come up heavy with an impossible thrashing mass that nearly capsizes them at dawn.
The creature infiltrates the hull, picking off crew while sonar shows more shapes rising; alliances fracture as oxygen dwindles and hallucinations begin.
Last two men must choose between detonating the boat to kill the hive-mind beast or letting it reach shore, ending with a final brutal choice at sunrise.

EXT. NORTH ATLANTIC TRAWLER - NIGHT Rain lashes the deck of the 68-foot trawler "Last Dollar." Harlan Voss (55) grips the winch controls, face lit by red running lights. The net cable screams under impossible tension. HARLAN Hold her steady! Something big— LIAM (22) slips on the wet steel, eyes wide. LIAM It’s fighting like it knows! The net breaches. Bioluminescent flesh pulses between the mesh—too many limbs, too many eyes. A tentacle lashes out, shattering the halogen lamp. Darkness. The boat lists hard. Water floods the scuppers. MARCUS (O.S.) Cut it! Cut the damn line! Harlan stares at the thrashing mass, jaw tight. HARLAN We need this catch.
Why now
With climate anxiety and ocean die-offs dominating headlines, audiences crave a visceral thriller that turns our guilt about the seas into edge-of-seat terror while delivering the pure creature-feature spectacle studios still greenlight.
